刘勇最近看恐怖片吓得觉都睡不好，艾嘉和马大姐不信邪，问刘勇借来看看想知道到底多恐怖。刘勇给了她们一盘日本恐怖电影《午夜凶铃》。结果艾嘉和马大姐在极度紧张的气氛中看完了影片后吓得够呛。 谁知第二天，刘勇又送来了《午夜凶铃》的续集，全家经不住诱惑看了续集。看完后艾嘉不敢一个人睡自己的房间，和父母挤到一处。夜里邻居家的电话铃，开门声，脚步声，把他们吓得胆战心惊，三人不敢合眼直到天亮。三人开始分析这“不寻常”的夜晚和这“不寻常”的声音，得出结论：刘勇家已全体惨遭“毒手”。 天刚亮，马大姐就开始找派出所和街道反映情况，结果当然是一场误会，贻笑大方。刘勇又送来《午夜凶铃》的第三集，被马大姐一顿臭骂，让他滚的远远的。
