蕾知道蕗子喜欢边见以后，受到颇大的伤害，也不去上学，一直想起以前跟蕗子的种种。有一天蕗子告诉蕾想去看雪，蕾马上知道蕗子的用意，原以为两人可以一起殉情，但是蕾割腕之后，蕗子却没有随后跟着割腕。如今回想起来，蕾才发现蕗子并非真的喜欢自己，她会想要自杀是因为自己对边见的单恋遭挫，只是想找个人陪她一起死，但后来又没有勇气自杀。得知这个真相的蕾非常受伤，在外面到处游荡，后来蕗子找到了她，告诉她自己根本就不喜欢边见，并且表示愿意当场跳楼以证明自己对蕾的爱。
