YAN is so captivated by CHUN’s beauty and charm that he drops his ocarina. KING SUEN does not blame him though, because CHUN is a true beauty. HOI reminds YAN that Chai is a defeated state, and that he is YAN’s superior. PRINCESS WAN expresses her love for TUEN-MUK with a revised poem. To her disappointment, he cannot get her meaning. KING SUEN misses YIM a lot. She strongly opposes his idea to betroth KIU to TSAU. PRINCESS WAN is doing a lot better. KING SUEN and QUEEN DOWAGER are both very pleased. The Prince of Chiu’s ambassador has come to propose to PRINCESS WAN on behalf of the prince again. To everyone’s surprise, she agrees to his proposal. YIM helps PRINCESS WAN run away from the palace overnight. CHI stops YIM. It is thundering and lighting when KING SUEN is trying to prevent PRINCESS WAN from eloping.
