导演李百龄联合邵氏编剧组，自创武侠新世界内容，以争夺天下第一剑为主题，拍出男性对名剑之狂恋，更动用三名摄影师及五名武术指导，营造出动人心魄的场面。魔山派秦五新(白彪 饰)连败九十九名剑手，终在最后一击败在剑神(王戎 饰)手上。五新杀死著名铸剑师老鹰(谷峰 饰)夺取其宝剑，老鹰之子燕北(尔冬陞 饰)矢志为父报仇……
