Базиран на едноименната новела на писателя Чарлз Дикенс, която не бе завършена заради смъртта му, "Мистерията на Едуин Друуд" разказва за вече сгодения диригент Джон Джаспър (чичото на титулярния герой), който се влюбва в една от своите ученички.
